Aaron was born on March 6, 1980 in San Diego to Eddie and Maggi Passmore. He is the oldest of three children, Jonah his younger brother, and Bethany his younger sister.
Aaron's conversion came at the very young age of five. He prayed the prayer to receive Christ as his Savior on the kitchen floor with his mother. At the age of twelve Aaron rededicated his life at a Forrest Home Camp. It was at that time he began to really see what that decision he made so many years before was all about. As young as he was he started to grasp what it looked like to follow the one true God who sent his son to die for his (Aaron's) sins.
He lived in San Diego until he was five, then moved to Moreno Valley for a year, and then to Lake Arrowhead, California. In all these locations his parents were involved in full time youth work and camping. As a part of the youth ministry the family was continually involved in missions, so it is safe to say that Aaron has been around Youth ministry and missions his whole life. Aaron graduated Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead. In 1998 he moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas to attend John Brown University.
Aaron spent four years in Arkansas where he majored in Youth Ministry and minored in Psychology. At JBU, he played and was captain of the rugby team, was a Resident Assistant in the dorm for two years, and also led small group and discipleship groups at the campus. He as well spent two years as an intern for Twin Springs Community Church in Siloam Springs Arkansas where he worked with both Jr. High and high school teens.
During his four years at John Brown University, he traveled every summer to Ecuador to assist a missions group called "Youth World" working in conjunction with HCJB and International teams. He was a lead role with their summer program. This program consisted of youth work, tribal work, and working with Mks (missionary kids).
After graduating from JBU in 2002, Aaron returned to San Diego and began working with Pastor Von for Spectrum Ministries to create and develop a small group and discipleship program with teens. Eventually, his responsibilities widened, and he became Assistant Director. He has worked side by side with Von for the last two year overseeing a large part of the ministry in Tijuana and here in the states.
In the summer of 2005 Aaron married Christine. He and his wife reside in San Diego. Christine works as a full-time 9th grade English teach in San Diego. She is also involved in various parts of Spectrum. At the end of 2006 Aaron will be taking over the role of Director of Spectrum Ministries. Pastor Von will continue with the Ministry as Director Emeritus.
Aaron enjoys the out doors and world travel. His travels have taken him to Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Argentina, Venezuela, Columbia, and various parts of Mexico. These were all in conjunction with different Missionary agencies and groups. Over the years he has had the opportunity to work with Agencies such as: New Tribes, HCJB, Youth World, International Teams, Mexican Medical, Mexico Caravan Ministry and most recently Spectrum Ministries.
HOW AARON CAME TO WORK AT SPECTRUM.
"Since I can remember I have been traveling to Tijuana with Pastor Von and Spectrum. In fact Von is like a third Grandpa to myself and my brother and sister. My father grew up in his youth group and we have always had Von and Spectrum as a ministry part of our lives. Von contacted me when I graduated from college and asked if I would interim with them for two years. I gladly said yes because God had placed the ministry of Spectrum on my heart to work with youth in cross-cultural settings and this seemed to be an awesome and God directed opportunity. Two years quickly came and went and as was mentioned above my plans have changed a bit. This year, 2006, I'll be taking over leadership as director of Spectrum and continue following the direction set by Von and those who serve with Spectrum. I continue excited about all that God has waiting for us."
